As the winter winds set in, it's hard to even think about wearing the dreamy floaty garments associated with spring time. However, Elie Saab's Spring-Summer 2013 Ready-to-Wear collection makes it a tad easier!
Elie Saab is probably my all-time favourite designer - with his penchant for embellishment and billowing gowns, and his incredible ability to dress the female form, what's not to love? Whilst usually I gaze wistfully at his Haute Couture occasion wear, his latest Ready-to-Wear collection left me pleasantly surprised!
1 - Look 39 | 2 - Look 44 | 3 - Look 34
4 - Look 26 | 5 - Look 38
His pieces, which ranged from silk shirts, sculpted blazers, tailored trousers and shorts, fitted working-girl sheath dresses and stunning red carpet gowns, were largely monochromatic in royal blue, delicate blush tones and poppy red. While the earlier looks in the show exuded a real working-girl vibe, the most dazzling feature of the range was the evening gowns. My absolute favourite item in the collection is Look 39, this gorgeous cobalt blue number. I just adore the collared button-up lace top teamed with the thigh-high slit: a delightful mix of sweet and sexy. His "heiress" theme is also evident in the other dresses above, with their gorgeous lace panelling and beading.
